I am writing this update purely because I wanted to type that title.
We got some weather today. It's been pretty chilly, and today we actually got some sleet. It sounded really neat bouncing off the ground and all the leaves. Like a world filled with pop rocks.
We got our new, very pretty shower measured for glass. We're going with framed glass, all nice and clear, so it should look really nice. I'll put pictures up when the whole things is done.
Jess and I are hoping to vacation in Europe this year. It's looking like we'll go with a tour company, because there's a lot of places we want to see and figuring out how to navigate around so many different countries sounds pretty tricky. Anyone who thinks or knows differently should feel free to chime in.

About foreign travel: I absolutely appreciated the touring assistance in China where I couldn't have navigated/negotiated my way out of the first airport. On the other hand, you did a wonderful job planning and organizing Japan, didn't you? I personally really enjoyed the months of preparation, planning, and discovery for our England/Portugal trip. I didn't feel like we missed much and the whole exploration and pre departure discovery made the trip much richer for me. If you don't want to burn your evenings surfing options and highlights on the web beforehand, then tour planning may be just fine. What countries are you contemplating??
I have a friend who really enjoyed her (newly minted Dr. present) trip to Italy with Rick Steves Co. She says they did all the things tour companies are supposed to do like get you a jump in line at museum, and they had at least half of every day free to explore, indulge in wine and other Italian delights. They did feel slightly like they were out of their $$ bracket- they saved to afford the trip, while everyone else there 'always traveled like that.' ;)
So, yeah, where are you thinking about going? I can hook you up with a tour of Portugal if you can afford a spare ticket, eh?
