Rachel Maddow in AK

Just in case anyone missed it, Rachel Maddow went to Anchorage to chat with Joe Miller and a few of his supporters.

You may now resume regular programming.

*shudder* it is both embarrassing and terrifying to think that someone so uncommitted and ignorant in his words and pedantically conservative could 1) potentially get a national platform, and 2) represent ME on the national stage.

I am of course completely torn about who to vote for otherwise. But for every time I whip out my ID and someone says "Oh, Alaska? What do you think of Sarah Palin?" and I cringe, it would be a billion times worse if it were Joe Miller.

I voted before I left (early voting, doncha know) and was kind of excited about it. Austin is the only blue in a very red state, but we don't quite live in the county where most of Austin is. We're sort of on the outskirts, in Williamson county. I like to think of it as Austin slowly spreading it's tendrils throughout the state.
